Rpm linux distribution automatic system configuration package.

These instructions are for rpmlinux distributions such as

  • Red Hat (Fedora, Enterprise Linux),
  • SuSE (openSuSe {used by Novell} Enterprise Server, Enterprise Desktop, Enterprise RealTime),
  • Mandriva (previously Mandrake).

The package does not require source code changes since it will use the existing drivers.

The package will configure the system to use the best driver available, for kernels 2.4.x and 2.6.x using devfs or udev.

  • Note: For 2.4.x kernels there is a performance penalty (uses usbserial which has throughput limited to about 500 kbps)

If you have not already done so, get RPM package
